25th April - Modigliani's Naked Ambition
Inspired by Modigliani's portraits of women, you will have a chance to draw two models in their full sensuality. Amadeo Modigliani has a reputation of a tragic hero - a talented, ambitious and handsome womaniser who was consumed by alcohol and drugs - who painted a large number of modern luminous but almost primal portraits of women. With this session Art Model Collective will recreate Modigliani's naked ambition, with a set that will bring to life some of his more remarkable nudes, considered among his most striking paintings! Pure flesh with a little background: Deep Orange, scarlet red, black and grey will dress a simple but effective set, were two bodies will be exposed to celebrate Modigliani's painterly sensuality. Carla and Manko will pose as the remarkable Modigliani's nudes, figures which, because of their lack of personal expression, are always unabashedly Modigliani's! Date: 25th April Time: 7-9pm Admission on the door: £15 Hosted by Jason Atomic. All levels welcome. We'll have some free art materials for spontaneously visiting artists, but as always, please bring your favourite tools. Chairs and drawing boards provided, some easels and table spaces available. Please join us for a drink afterwards. We're a friendly bunch of like-minded creatives and enjoy chatting, brainstorming, getting feedback and swapping ideas!
